Embarked with 153rd Halifax N.S. SS Olympic 29-4-17. Arrived Liverpool 7-5-17. Assigned 25th Reserve for Training and Administration. Taken on Strength 18th Battalion. KIA 26-8-18 shrapnel wound to head. Globe & Mail Casualty List 5-9-18 reports "KIA.". Cemetery: Aubigny Communal Cemetery Extension, Pas de Calais, France. Grave Reference: IV.D.46. 'Circumstances of Death' Register per Library & Archives Canada: "Died of Wounds" Whilst taking part in an attack on Marcelcave morning of August 8th, he was hit in the head by shrapnel from an enemy shell.
