Enlisted Mt Forest 16-12-15 (age 42 years 7 months), lists service in 30th Wellington Regiment. Enlistment noted in 23-1-16 edition Arthur Enterprise. On 153rd Battalion Nominal Roll 12-2-16, transfer to 122nd noted. On 153rd Nominal Rolls as published Guelph Mercury 10-6-16 and 1-12-16. On 122nd sailing list 2-6-17, SS Olympic, Halifax. N.S. Arrived England 9-6-17. Assigned 49th Canadian Forestry Corps Depot Sunningdale for Training and Administration. Taken on Strength Canadian Forestry Corps 9-7-17. Letter from Sgt. John Treadwell: No 49 of the Canadian Forestry Corps, France, " ... we have two Mt Forest boys Pte Archie Roberts, cook and yours truly, Sgt Johnny Treadwell, bush foreman."
