Enlisted Mt Forest 11-2-16 (age 23 years 6 months). Enlistment noted in 17-2-16 edition Mt Forest Representative. On 153rd Battalion Nominal Roll 19-2-16, transfer to 194th noted. On 153rd Nominal Rolls as published Guelph Mercury 10-6-16 and 1-12-16. Declared Deserter by Court of Inquiry, St Thomas, 7-12-16. Transfer to 194th Battalion 11-11-16. Sailed with 194th Battalion 14 Nov. 16, aboard SS Olympic Halifax N.S. Taken on Strength 3rd CMGC, 19-8-17. Given permission to marry, 28-9-17. Evacuated to Hospital, 5-11-17, shell shock. Mt Forest Register 3-10-18 reports "...wounded in foot, shell shocked." Book "Memories of Mount Forest" by A.W. Wright reports "wounded, shell shocked." Invalided to Canada aboard SS Tunisian, 7-10-18. Discharged from Service, Medically Unfit, Toronto, 18-12-18. Department of Veteran Affairs Notification of Death: died 14-11-67, Veteran's Pavilion, Edmonton.
