Trade listed as Printing. DOB 31-5-96, born New York City, New York. (New York Birth Registry DOB 31-5-97) 5 foot 5 inches. Green eyes, fair hair. Methodist. NOK Hester Moore, mother. Originally was in 1st Contingent of 30th Wellington Regiment under Capt. F.W. Campbell. For some reason did not enlist at Valcartier and returned to Mount Forest. Enlisted 153rd Battalion Mt Forest 14-3-16 (age 19 years), notes 4 months service 1st Battalion, Valcartier. Enlistment in 153rd noted 16-3-16 edition Mt Forest Representative. On 153rd Battalion Nominal Roll 25-3-16, no transfer noted. On 153rd Nominal Rolls as published Guelph Mercury 10-6-16 and 1-12-16. Embarked with 153rd Halifax N.S. SS Olympic 29-4-17. Taken on Strength 47th 30-3-18. GSW to lower jaw 28-9-18. Returned to Canada aboard SS Empress of Britain, 22-1-19, Halifax, N.S. Demobilized Toronto 14-2-19. Book "Memories of Mount Forest" by A.W. Moore reports "wounded." A Pennsylvania Veteran's Death Card (WWII), died 12-10-69, buried George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus, Bergen County, New Jersey.
