Trade listed as Student. DOB 28-8-97, born Arthur. 5 foot 11 inches. Blue eyes, dark brown hair. Presbyterian. NOK David Kennedy, father. Enlisted Arthur 24-1-16. Enlisted Arthur 21-1-16 (age 18 years). Enlistment noted in 27-1-16 edition Arthur Enterprise. On 153rd Battalion Nominal Roll 29-1-16, no transfer noted. On 153rd Nominal Rolls as published Guelph Mercury 10-6-16 and 1-12-16. Embarked with 153rd Halifax N.S. SS Olympic 29-4-17. Arrived Liverpool 7-5-17. Assigned 25th Reserve for Training and Administration. Taken on Strength 18th Battalion 15-12-17. Wounded 11-4-18, shrapnel back, chest, left arm. Globe and Mail Casualty List 16-4-18 under Infantry reports 'wounded.' Arthur Enterprise 2-5-18 reports "On Saturday, Mrs. D. Kennedy received a letter from France from the nurse attending her son Pte William Kennedy. The young soldier received his wound in the shoulder and was unable to write himself. When somewhat stronger, he expected to be moved to an English hospital." Returned to Canada aboard SS Grampian, 2-2-19, St John, N.B. Demobilized Toronto 17-3-19, medically unfit.
